It has been good for us here in Bangkok, just in time before school break.
We had a very important guest from Germany, Mr. Martin Gretschmann.
(Console, 13 & God, Acid Pauli) He is working on Notwist’s new album, you guys should check them out!

Together with Goethe Institute, SAE students took Mr. Martin's workshop very seriously. Martin walked through techniques in Ableton Live, Melodyne and Logic. It was very relaxed and fun workshop.

A couple days later, a special event, "Metrobit" took place @ NO. 53 restaurant. We were there and the place was kicking with great music from Katsue, Simplex
and Acid Pauli. Thank you, everybody who came and supported us that night.

SAE Institute Bangkok was pleased to welcome Grammy-Award winning mastering engineer Mr. Woody Pornpitaksuk recently to give a guest lecture to our audio engineering students on the mastering process.

Our audio engineering students had the privilege of learning about the mastering process, as well as techniques from Woody who earned the Grammy in 2001 for his work on the Louis Armstrong collection: ‘The Complete Hot Five and Hot Seven Recordings’. Students even had an opportunity to play their mixes for Woody and receive invaluable advice on ways to improve! The lecture was enjoyed by all who attended.

A Legend Finds a New Home

SAE Bangkok recently took purchase of a Sytek Systems ‘Neotek Elite’ console, which was previously installed at SAE Headquarters in Byron Bay, Australia. The console has a rich history, originally purchased from a studio in Sweden, where it is rumored to have played a part in some of Abba’s legendary recordings…

The desk replaces the Soundcraft DC-2020 previously residing in our 24-track studio number one at SAE Bangkok and will be coupled with a ProTools TDM system and plenty of outboard gear.

The desk features 48 inputs, a custom patch-bay, renowned microphone preamps and 4-band EQ.
